A Fantastic Reason to Wear White After Labor Day

Brocade Parka, $725

Growing up on the East Coast, wearing white had a very small window from Easter until Labor Day.  There were no exceptions to that rule. Today, fashion knows no boundaries and wearing white year-round has become the norm.

Thank heavens because I am crushing hard on fashion designer Erin Fetherston and her new hooded parka, which is made of champagne white rose brocade and down-filled with taffeta accents.

I was hooked at the celestial description on her website but, how super cute is Fetherston, who is the model and her own muse.

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, designer Fetherston graduated from UC Berkeley before attending Parsons Paris to study fashion design.

Among her honors, Fetherston was a recipient of the 2007 Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award, a finalist for the 2007 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, and in 2009 was inducted as a member of the CFDA. Fetherston debuted her contemporary offering 'ERIN' in 2011, which is enjoying critical acclaim from retail and press.

Her collection can be found at Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's, Barneys Japan, Harvey Nichols Hong Kong, and United Arrows as well as specialty boutiques worldwide.
