5 Tips to Get Beach Ready Quick
Memorial Day weekend signifies the start of summer and,
along with the promise of warm weather, fun days at the beach to beat the heat
are mandatory. So, it is right about now,
we start to regret all those broken New Year’s resolutions to get into shape. But don’t despair because, with these 5 tips,
you will find yourself ready for some fun in the sun in no time at all.
As much as we’d all love to be Giselle and get paid to pose for Victoria’s Secret and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, the reality is that we don’t; but that doesn’t mean us gals can’t don a flattering suit that makes us feel like a million bucks.
Some of us already know how to play on the strengths and weaknesses of our bodies but, if not, resources such as the Lands’ End Swim Finder can help you find the right suit for your body and lifestyle.
Fun sunnies and a big beach hat can add a certain Ă©lan to being beach ready. These fashionable accoutrements always lend an air of sophistication and glamour to any suit or cover-up. Not to mention they help to protect your eyes and skin from the sun.
SELF-TANNER A little color will go a long way
Everyone looks better with a tan. There is no denying that a little sun can
make pale skin look vibrant and fresh but you don’t have to put yourself in harm’s
way with UV Rays to get a healthy-looking glow.
My “go to” quick fix is a spray tan at my local tanning salon. Within hours, my problem areas seem to
disappear. A little color camouflage
helps to hide my cellulite and gives my abs some faux definition. There is nothing sassier than some golden
brown shoulders and I love that I don’t have to wear a lot of make-up.
If you can’t make it to a salon, there are plenty of
self-tanning products on the market; however, I have found the Jergens ®
Natural Glow line works wonders and is very forgiving.

UNDER COVER
Beach cover-ups as a fashion statement
If you still aren’t comfortable baring it all, a beach cover
up is the perfect way to dare but not be bare.
Cover-ups come in a variety of lengths, shapes and styles: Long and
flowing tunics; cute and flirty dress style; and barely there scarves and
dresses. Every woman should have at
least one in her wardrobe.

WORK IT OUT Easy Strength Training pumps muscles
Some celebrities boast that they pump iron to define their
arms and legs before the big awards shows.
Doing this before hitting the beach is a great way to pump your own muscles
even if you aren’t a gym rat. Before you
hit the beach, do a short interval training session: 3 sets of 10 push-ups; 3 sets of 10 squats; and if
you have some light dumbbells a variety of triceps and bicep exercises can
create the illusion of being pumped up.
