The Dalai Lama To Enlighten Trojans at USC
HHDL tweeted the following yesterday...
"To have true friends and be loved by them, we must in turn feel love and sympathy for others."
The Dalai Lama’s tweets are my favorites. They are short, sweet and so utterly profound. It is no wonder that he has been listed as the second most spiritually influential person in the world, according to Wikipedia. His appeal seems to be his charismatic personality, the world’s fascination with Buddhism, and his Universalist values.
And, if you are lucky enough to live in Los Angeles and have this morning free, you may be able to experience his greatness in person.
His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet will be speaking at University of Southern California today. In the morning, HHDL will give a talk to the university and the general public on global ethics and universal responsibility titled, “Secular Ethics, Human Values and Society.” Afterward, he will participate in a Q & A session. In the afternoon, Dalai Lama will join a panel of world-renowned scholars for a discussion titled, “Secular Ethics: Origins, Elements and Their Function in Society.”
Sadly, I won’t be able to attend; however, if anyone can make it, there are still tickets to the morning session available.
But,if you are like me and unable to attend, find peace in the fact that you can invite him to be your friend on Facebook or be one of his tweeps on Twitter.
